COME WITH ME IN THE NIGHT

"Come with me," said the arctic fox to his silvery corvidae friend,"Let us wander 'neath the tundra moon and watch the snow descend.Together we can haunt the night, as lonely as two ghosts, leaving no trace as we pass, with shadows of morose."

"Come with me," said the silver crow to his ghostly vulpine friend,"Let us wander where the trees have gone and into clouds ascend.Together we can hunt the night, you kill and I shall reap, and all shall fear to hear our song call in the twilight sleep."

The Tale of Iffy and Biffy

Now iffy and biffy were fairies of a most peculiar sort

And they'd often spend time on the face of a dime talking of fine drinks like port

But since iffy and biffy were poor folk, just that dime and some pie in the sky

They'd just sit there all talk and the people would mock how they'd never be able to buy.

And one day just as this was occuring, young iffy to biffy did say

"sure'n it would be grand if some 'un tripped in the sand and rolled a few coins out this way."

"it's true, t'would be grand," said old biffy, "to have all that cash quick to hand,

But so often I think, that to order the drink, so much taller than this we'd need stand."

"alas, tis too true," said young iffy, "for the bar we'd not reach as we are."

And it soon was decided that funds undivided were better for ladders by far.

High-Velocity Lead or The Cowboy's Lament

It was a dark and stormy evening and I was just about to leaving
when some lightning spooked the horses and they up and run away
they were towards the hills a heading and you sure can be a betting
I was real upset and angry and this disruption to my day

But it weren't only the roaming of my ride I was bemoaning
as the ammo in the saddle bags strapped to 'em when they fled
and as the night comes down around me and the wolves prowl close around me
right 'bout now I'd trade those horses for some high-velocity lead.
